This website was developed by Mike Covington who is both a self-taught
photographer as well as a website developer. My interests are primarily in
nature and scenic photography, but am quite happy anywhere I can take my
camera. I made the decision to make these photos available to the public
through this website in an effort to illustrate the natural beauty of the
wildlife and landscapes in the Low Country areas of South Carolina.
I grew up in North Carolina with most of my career in the air lines and
technology sector. I have always been interested in photography and since
moving to Pawleys Island, SC in 2006 can now explore the many photographic
opportunities in the area.
Many of my photos were taken in and around Huntington Beach State Park in
Murrells Inlet, SC. The wide variety of migratory birds that move through
this area every year offer photographers many opportunities to get that once
in a lifetime shot. The alligators are interesting subjects as well,
especially when dining on crabs. At certain times of the year, the sunrises
and sunsets can be extreme.
The more time we spend outdoors, really watching the sights and listening to
the sounds of nature, the better we begin to understand how fragile our
environment is and how important it is to protect it for future generations.
For the golfers out there, I have a pretty good collection of golf photos that you can view at
www.heritage-golf.com and if you
want more information about the Heritage Plantation subdivision in
Pawleys Island, SC, click here for my
Heritage Plantation gallery.
Most of my more recent work has been on canvas. I like
the look it presents and it goes well with my style of photography. If you
are local to the Myrtle Beach and Pawleys Island area, check out some of the
places that are currently showing my work (Click here
for list). If you are not local, check out my gallery from the links to
your left. You can see more of my work at

have questions or a special request, don't hesitate to contact me. Use the
contact page or just e-mail me at
